About Zarna Garg
Comedian Zarna Garg is a force of nature with a microphone. Her inspiring new memoir ‘This American Woman,’ about her treacherous climb from a homeless teen in Mumbai to an unhinged stay-at-home mom in New York and then to an internationally beloved stand-up comedian, is a New York Times Bestseller!
This Indian immigrant mom brought her sharp, relatable family humor to her first streaming special, ‘One in a Billion.’ Her follow-up special ‘Practical People Win’ premieres on Hulu in July. When Zarna’s not slaying at the Comedy Cellar or opening for icons like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, she’s selling out headlining shows worldwide.
Zarna’s “Tonight Show” and “Late Night” interviews are among the most watched online. She made her acting debut in ‘A Nice Indian Boy,’ a New York Times Critic’s Pick (calling Zarna “a standout”). Her hugely popular ‘Zarna Garg Family Podcast’ explores modern family life with her husband and kids. With millions of social media followers and billions of views, Zarna just can’t stop laughing her way to the top.

About Our Honorees
Bergen County’s United Way/Madeline Housing Partners
An initiative between Bergen County’s United Way (BCUW) and Madeline Corporation, the partnership was formed to create and preserve safe, affordable housing across New Jersey. Together, they’ve provided housing for nearly 700 individuals, including seniors, veterans, families, survivors of domestic abuse, and people with developmental and physical disabilities—offering not just homes, but independence, stability, and dignity.
Award presented to:
Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine
The cornerstone of the medical school is its groundbreaking Human Dimension program, which connects students with community members to better understand the social determinants of health and their impact on outcomes. Since 2018, students have partnered with New Jersey families, worked with over 200 community organizations—including REED and Greens Do Good—and developed projects that address real-world challenges. The program ensures the next generation of physicians bring excellence, empathy, and advocacy into their practice and expand access to care.
